Our disruptive hybrid tandem cell technology integrates specialized production-demonstrated materials with high reliability to break through the physical efficiency limits of traditional silicon. By stacking high-performance thin films, we capture more power from the solar spectrum to achieve a 30% practical panel efficiency.
The Technology
While conventional solar manufacturing has pushed silicon panel technology to its theoretical limits, Uriel Solar has focused on innovative solar cell technology using a wide-bandgap top solar cell in tandem cell architecture. Utilizing a p-type CdZnTe absorber that passes red light while absorbing blue light from the solar spectrum, an optimized tandem solar cell is created with theoretical efficiency approaching 43% and a practical panel efficiency of 30%. With the n-type emitter currently being finalized, our core development phase is nearly complete. Our technology roadmap includes scaling single-crystal CdTe and solar cells into a high-efficiency tandem solar cell.

This precise engineering ensures highly reliable yields and superior performance in the challenging environment of high UV exposure, extreme desert heat, as well as radiation exposure in space applications.
